So, it's been about a week now since the official announcement of Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl and the internet has been fully absorbed in creating new jokes, memes, and images ever since. This upcoming game, created by Ludosity (previously known for Slap City, a pretty fun Smash-like fighter in of itself) seems to be of a higher quality than any other Nickelodeon (or Western cartoon themed) fighter has ever been and also seems to have a lot in common with the most well-known fighting game Super Smash Bros.Because of that similarity the internet has latched onto this game in an instant, whether it's making threads on forums hypothesizing wild choices on potential future characters, making memes poking fun at Smash Ultimate, or just talking about the state of the game in general. We've had a blast seeing all these memes, so it seemed like a good idea to share some of our personal favorites with you.

10 Moving Onto All-Stars Brawl Like A Kid Moves On To A New Toy

DairInNeutral On Twitter Using An Image Of A Toy Getting Dropped In Toy Story To Allude To The Smash Community Ditching Smash Ultimate For All-Stars Brawl

First up is this hilarious Tweet. It's been long established that the online for the Smash Bros games have always been, quite frankly, awful. Nintendo is a gigantic company and Smash is one of their most profitable properties, so why is the netcode/online experience for every Smash game so arduous?

Well, this joke by Luross plays with that idea and talks about how quickly a lot of the Smash Ultimate community would realistically leave Smash for All-Stars Brawl if their promises of rollback netcode turn out to be true. And, since Sakurai already confirmed this next DLC character is the last, nows as good a time as any to hop onto the next bandwagon.

9 iCarly's Gibby Would Make A Fantastic Character

One of the funniest things people are doing after the All-Stars Brawl commercial came out is Tweeting as if footage/stills from old Nickelodeon shows are actual stills from All-Stars Brawl and complaining about their favorite "fighter".

One of TG's personal favorites has been all the Gibby memes from ICarly. Gibby, the oddball side character from ICarly, getting put into this game is on the same level as maybe Brock from Pokemon getting put into the next Smash game as a playable character.

8 Hugh Neutron's VA Even Joins In On The Fun

EspadaAmorosa Getting The Voice Actor For Hugh Neutron To Record A Line Using Complex Fighting Game Terminology As A Meme

Most of the memes circulating around All-Stars brawl have been pretty clever in, but relatively low effort in their execution. This one by Espada Amorosa on Twitter to get Mike DeCarlo, the voice actor for Hugh Neutron from Jimmy Neutron, to say something for him absolutely takes the cake in terms of effort. Basically, Espada got Mike to promise that if he got 500 likes on a tweet using this Twitter Message as the image, then DeCarlo voice a line of Espada's choosing as Hugh Neutron.

And, lo' and behold, he got well past that amount of likes rather quickly, and Mike graciously delivered, making Hugh sound like a fighting game veteran. Moments like this where even the voices behind the characters themselves interact with the memes is what makes browsing Twitter worth it (for the most part).

7 Uh-Oh, Someone Leaked Jimmy Neutron's Alternate Costumes

RealYoutubeKids (Not The Real Account) Using A Screencap From The Episode Of Jimmy Neutron Where He Makes A Bunch Of Clones Of Himself To Joke About His -Alt Costumes- Getting Leaked
Image By @RealYoutubeKids (Not Actually The Real Account) On Twitter

This next one by what obviously appears to be a fake YouTubeKids account is also pretty on point. Basically, every character in Smash has alternate colors you can use to either just make yourself look cooler, or to differentiate between two players using the same character.

And, this Tweet is making a joke about Jimmy Neutron's "alternate costumes" getting leaked as if this were real or the game was already out. But, frankly, we do hope that All-Stars Brawl has alternate costumes and colors, as it would be an easy way for the developers to tug at our nostalgia even more than they already have.

6 Kappa Mikey "Totally" Confirmed

NibrocRock On Twitter Using The Classic -My Dad Works At Nintendo- Format To Jokingly Fake Confirm Kappa Mikey For All-Stars Ultimate

Boy Kappa Mikey sure was a trainwreck of the early 2000s, wasn't it? This show, created by Larry Schwarz, would be the most memorable thing Larry was a part of. The idea was that Mikey, an American Actor, would travel to Japan to star in a show, and would meet a bunch of characters along the way that were designed after anime stereotypes to contrast his Western animation stereotype character. It was a mess of a show, yet it still carved out a little space in all of our minds who saw it as kids/teens, and it hasn't left since.

This tweet by NibrocRock is playing off of that, and they're pretending to have "insider" knowledge of the game from their uncle, and use a fake mock-up to "confirm" that Kappa Mikey will be in the game. It's a hilarious joke playing off the classic "My dad works at Nintendo" meme we all know and love, even if there's a 0.1% chance Mikey actually makes it into the final game. Though, with Avatar characters already confirmed, it seems like there might be a lot of room for just about anyone to make it in. And, the devs seem open about oddball character choices, so hopefully, we won't have to go through the pain of seeing more beloved characters relegated to Mii Fighter costumes anymore

AspreyFM Posing The Question Of If Smash Has Master Hand, What Will Nickelodeon All Stars Have
This Difficult Question Was Posed By @AspreyFM On Twitter

You know, Dylan Asprey makes a very good point, if Super Smash Bros has Master and Crazy hand, what will the equivalent be in All-Stars Brawl?

At this point, their entire marketing campaign for the game is based around the similarities to the Smash franchise anyway, so maybe they should just double down on it and include Nickelodeon off-brand Smash Bros reference characters in their already-quite-large roster.

4 No, But Really, The OST For This Game Better Be A Bop

ActualAreo On Twitter Who Made A Mockup Image Of Classic Nickelodeon Cartoon Songs In A Fake Smash OST Menu

We hadn't thought about it until now, but thanks to @ActualAero's question on Twitter, what is the soundtrack of this game going to be like? The most realistic possibility is that it'll just use the background music from all the Nickelodeon shows and movies as stage music, with a couple of new songs created just for the game.

But, the dream scenario most fans are probably hoping for is that they'll remix many of the iconic songs from these shows into full tracks similar to how Smash did. We'd love to see a version of "Icky Vicky" from Fairly Odd Parents tailored to a fighting game or even a different rendition of "Gooby Goober" from the first Spongebob movie.

3 The Competitive Smash Scene Making Fun Of All-Star Brawl Having Better Netcode

CClipboards On Twitter Using The Scene From Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Where Will Smith Comes Back To Any Empty House To Allude To Sakurai Coming Back To A Missing Player Base
Original Tweet By @CClipboards On Twitter

This next one is sort of along the same vein as our first entry, and it's all about how if another game shows up using iconic and nostalgic characters, but has better consumer practices, most people usually jump ship. Twitter user Clipboards uses this concept to make a point of sub-tweeting on another post from @HuskySSBM about how the developers of All-Stars Brawl confirmed rollback netcode on their Discord. Rollback netcode is, of course, the type of netcode that fighting game fans much prefer compared to delayed input netcode that Smash uses.

So, if the dev confirmation turns out to be true, Clipboards and a large group of other gamers are hedging their bets on the idea that a lot of longtime Smash players will quickly hop over to All-Stars Brawl, since it seems like it'll be more of a competitive game than anyone was likely expecting.

2 Mr. Turner Coming In With The Fighting Game Lingo

Shiny Aquana Making Fun Of How All-Stars Brawl Will Apparently Be Competitve By Having Mr. Turner Bust In Using Some VERY in-the-know fighting game terminology
Image By @Shiny Aquana On Twitter

There's just something so inherently hilarious about an intentionally simple character like Timmy Turner's dad using fighting game lingo so expertly.

Not only that, this joke image/tweet is also targeting a very specific audience of Smash/fighting game players who actually know what "DI" stands for, what a disjointed hitbox possibly could be, and what the original quote from this scene in Fairly Odd Parents.

1 Weenie Hut Jr's Would Actually Be An Amazing Lobby Hub

Pat7826 On Twitter Making A Joke About How These Hilarious Spongbob Squarepants Locations Will Be The Lobby Areas For All-Stars Brawl Like In DBZ FighterZ

Lastly, Pat here's Tweet about the lobby system of All-Stars Brawl is another in-joke for fighting game fans. Of course, even a casual fighting game player could piece this joke together, but the audience who has played games made by Arc System Works like Dragon Ball FigherZ or Guilty Gear Strive with weird lobby systems will understand this joke on a deeper level.

That said, even with all the issues it would cause, if it meant we could hang out with friends in Salty Spatoon or Weenie Hut Jr's, it might be worth dealing with an awkward lobby system like this.
